Jonas,
Now you've done it! Now I'm gonna try to grow one out here where it hit 97F today. And I thought it was not a good idea-shows what I know. Thanks for the encouragement.

Scott - I know white pines can be a challenge, but I've seen them healthy in climates ranging from Santa Cruz to Salt Lake City - a very hot and dry locale. I actually think they'll do better with warmer summers and cooler winters than they do in mild coastal areas. Of course they'll need careful watering in warmer areas, but with the extra care they'll look extra good.

Jonas,
Great tree and a great opportunity. I look forward to seeing this one strong and styled.

Jonas,
What a wonderful tree! So much promise. I'm jealous that I can't grow white pines where I live, I've always loved their needles. Please keep us updated on this tree as time rolls on its road back to full recovery. And thanks for all your posts, I'm one of those who reads your blog consistently.

Hey Jonas - lovely article. My favorite bonsai activity is the simple task of caring for a tree: Pulling needles, cleaning dead wood, cutting candles, repotting, detail wiring. This tree is thanking you giving it the care and attention that it needs. I very much look forward to seeing its progress over the years.
