Love your bonsai, Jonas. Thanks for sharing. It displays the beauty of nebari stretching the trunk base in one direction while compressed on the opposite side.

For me, the stamp looks more like a formal upright. I leaned the stamp to view the trunk vertically because of the painting's near symmetrical root stretch.

Has the artist acknowledged the original trees? As an icon for bonsai recognition in North America, your tree would be especially prized alongside the stamp image in an American bonsai museum. I hope you would consider it. The subtle attention to detail of your tree is deeply inspiring.

The technical stylistic used in each of the plants are perfect. It really is a wonderful exhibition.
And the cool thing is the dominance of native plants of the United States.
Congratulations for anniversary.

Great pictures and very nice to see what are considered to be good to very good hobbyist trees in Japan. A bit closer to many of the trees we are developing than those fully developed by the pros.

I greatly appreciate your website, it is new to me. The pictures and related text are exceptionally well done.
On the Redwood questions I have often felt the same, sorry to say I haven't seen the aforementioned Jay McDonald tree. I'll make the effort. I have an old friend in Oakland who has, what my eye says, an excellent redwood bonsai, tall and expressing the nature of the tree unusually well. I'll try to get a couple of pictures and forward to you for your consideration. Meanwhile congratulations on a job very well done. Donald B. Meeker
