Bay Island Bonsai’s 15th annual exhibit

January 24, 2014 by Jonas Dupuich

The theme for Bay Island Bonsai’s 15th annual exhibit was Born in the USA. It was an exhibit with no imported trees. Honestly, we weren’t totally sure how things would turn out a few years ago when we decided on the idea. Now that the show’s over, I can say that we were happy with the decision.Β Here are some of the trees from the exhibit.

Y U no have maples at this exhibition? ;-D

Really though, beautiful trees. I looked at the pictures before reading and thought many of these were imported. These are extremely impressive trees and it makes me hopeful for the future of bonsai in the states.

Very nice! Great to see a nice ponderosa there too! Were there any other native pines displayed?

Thanks, and yes, I can think of at least one native pine from the show – photos on the way.

Nice bonsai you’ve got there. I’ve just started to learn to grow them.

Thank you all for your extraordinary work growing and preparing these trees, photographing them in their best light and finest, and then sharing for all your extraordinary delight. A great gift. β€” The Healing Garden gardener
