The Napa Valley Bonsai Club held their annual exhibit last Saturday at the Senior Center in Napa, California. The event featured a display area, club sales, silent auction, vendors and a demo. President Brent Ihli did a great job leading the crew that set up the show, managed the exhibit, and broke down the show all in one day. I had the pleasure of working on a trident maple for the demonstration and enjoyed presenting to an audience that included many people that were new to bonsai.
The exhibit itself featured a variety of trees that look good in spring, including a satsuki azalea in full bloom. Here are some of the highlights.
Satsuki azalea
Japanese maple
Black pine
Shimpaku
Boxwood
Olive
Contorted filbert
