On my first visit to Japan, one of the gardens in the Omiya Bonsai Village left a particular impression – the garden of Horoshi Takeyama.
Takeyama is the creator of some of the top deciduous and forest-style bonsai in Japan. Although the garden is beautiful year-round, it’s in winter when you can see the deciduous trees at their best.

“Perfection” is the word that comes to mind. Tameyama’s trees have exquisite ramification. I took a screenshot of each tree to study further. Jonas, you mentioned that he is known for his forests? Hope those pictures are Friday 😉

Yes, the ramification on Takeyama’s trees is stunning. Most of the trees were so crowded I couldn’t get good photos, but I might share a photo of one that was on display at the Kokufu exhibit in coming weeks.
