Wisteria in bloom and Spring Update

March 18, 2022 by Jonas Dupuich

In lieu of a regular post this week, I wanted to share an image of a wisteria in bloom.

Wisteria in bloom

Caroline Wisteria – 33″

Sam Bryan did a fantastic job creating this tree that continues to produce flowers and refined branching every year. (If you’re curious about how the tree is trained, see “Developing branches on Chinese wisteria” for details.)

In other news, cut paste and aluminum bonsai wire are back in stock on the Bonsai Tonight online store. In the coming weeks, catalogs from Japanese exhibits and bonsai soil – including akadama and bonsai pre-mix – will be available. I’ll have more details in an upcoming post.

I’m busy air-layering one in the back garden much to my girl friends chagrin. I showed her the image above and she is now more than happy as long as I can get it to flower. So no pressure.

I never saw a wisteria like that and after reading the referenced blog post I am in awe. Absolutely stunning tree! It looks so nice when its bare as well!
Dang it! Now I have to get a Wisteria…
