Very nice trees!
The large shimpaku juniper with deadwood appears to be on the wrong side of the display? I see that the tree leans left, but the foliage definitely leads my eye outside of the display and leaves the scroll and accent tree looking like they are in a separate display. Please discuss.

Thanks for writing Houston, it’s a good question. Will be interesting to hear from the tree’s owner about the decision, but I’d likely make the same one as the movement of the lower section of the trunk tends to be among the most important factors in determining how to display a tree. It could be that as the tree matures the outline of the foliage will better suggest movement to the left.

Thanks for the reply. It would also be helpful to have another view of the display. Perhaps the photo doesn’t fully capture the 3 dimensional movement that would help to establish direction.
